About HGT

Hackney GT has been birthed out of Russ Jones passion for cycling, a keen eye for fashion and trends , a quirky edge and a love of music from around the world. Wanting to make a cycle jersey for his music production company Hackney Globe Trotter and what was originally only one design has turned into many and now into a new label and collection. Vibrant, alternative and a reflection of Russ' beloved Hackney and East London - currently the cultural and creative centre of the world (fact: there are more artist in Hackney Wick per sq. mile than any other space on the planet).

The musical adventures have seen Russ djing literally all around the world to hosting his own festival in E. London and festival stages at the likes of Glastonbury and Bestival. There have been mixes on BBC Radio 1, 6Music and more. A number of compilation CDs including the ground breaking Future World Funk series and a couple of releases with the Basement Jaxx . There is currently a weekly podcast on www.SOASRadio.org and he still hosts a monthly parties in the Eastend of London with a whole plethora of amazing tropical bands and DJs.

Russ' cycling and sporting exploits have led to sponsorship deals, great results in both mountain bike and cycle cross racing in regional and national races and a winner of triathlons.

There are many plans afoot for for more designs, events, music projects, bikes and so much more. A reflection of creative and positive life for living. So as they say 'watch this space'........
